Gogglebox star Linda McGarry breaks silence following son George Gilbey’s tragic death

Gogglebox star Linda McGarry has broken her silence following son George Gilbey’s tragic death.
The TV personality fell to his death in a horror accident at work on March 27th.
George rose to fame on the second series of the show alongside his mother and step-father Pete in 2013.

His sudden death comes less than three years after his step-father died from bowel cancer aged 71.
The 74-year-old said George was her “best friend” and “did more in his 40 years than most people do in 90.”
The 40-year-old’s former partner, Gemma Conway, described him as “a devoted dad” to their shared daughter Amelie.

In a moving interview with the Thurrock Gazette, Linda described her son as a “devoted father” with “buckets of personality.”
Linda said: “I’m devastated – he was like my best friend.”
“He had the best heart in the world – he was generous, funny and kind, with bundles of charm and buckets of personality.”

“He did more in his 40 years than people do in 90 – he’s even had dinner with the Prince of Dubai.”
“He was crazy, but after coming out of showbiz, he couldn’t get his life back together.”
“He just couldn’t get over the death of Pete.”

“I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and he took it worse than me. He was a mummy’s boy.”
“He came to celebrity overnight but didn’t really want to be – he was just normal.”
“But it allowed him to do charity work – anytime anyone contacted him about charity work, he prioritised it.”
